Thanks to Rob and Jim for a very productive/relaxed meeting. Here are the notes...
Incubation Sprint
- General enthusiasm - hey we can finally do this :) Goal is to have a block of time to submit CQs and get some projects graduated
- Considering timing with respect to GeoServer Code Jan18 (Victoria)
- Venue Choice:
- Victoria:
- May be good timing to do before or after Victoria GeoServer sprint?
(Gabriel, Jody, Jim and Martin already present)
- Cross over to discuss JAI replacement
- Philadelphia
- GeoTrellis has offered to host!
- Ottawa - close to IP team - but very cold!
- Whistler - semi serious suggestion - good skiing, temping to sharon on the IP team
- Sprint Planing
- Q: How much time?
A: 3 day incubation code sprint - January 25th-27th
- Q: Can we get the IP team to come out?
A: TBD
- action: Run the numbers (travel / accommodation) for the leading candidates (Victoria and Philadelphia).
GeoTrellis update
- Focus for release 0.10 ... then incubation :)
GeoMesa
- How are we doing on the CQ train?
- Got everything +1, IP reviewing now ... great news!
- How to handle GeoTools 14.1 CQ?
- One Big CQ and then small piggybacks?
- Or small CQs that build on each other ...
- Action: Start one CQ and each project can add the jars they need ..
- Q: Can we enter the CQ against the top level locationtech project?
A: no since it has no committers
- Note: Need pull request from Tom Ingold (update: he has signed contributors agreement)
GeoBench:
- interesting new project
- Initial based on datastore raster
- Consider wrapper based on CQL, reference implementation based on DataStore
- ideas for participation for raster?
- may be possible for comparison between raster/vector processing
- simple: min,max, histogram
- complex: theme based drawing
SFCurve
- Expect some contributions in collaboration with GeoMesa release
Arithectechure Council discussion
- See email, may be worth while to coordiante with science working group
- Jim is considering volunteering ... :)
