Re: [technology-pmc] committer training hangout

I filed a bug (initial for uDig) already to get feedback from build infrastructure.
Idea behind : Use hooks to push builds on HIPP instance giving the context (pull request id) as parameter

Details https://locationtech.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=48

I hope a solution would work for other projects as well, if the hook itself is generic enough (HIPP instance, Job name). Later could be convenience over configuration, e.g. <project-name>-PR or similar

+1 if Webmasters could attend

We've done some investigation, and AFAICT, it's not possible to use Gerrit with GitHub. Not easily anyway. You'd have the repo local to Gerrit and then push from it to the GitHub repo (a bit of a complicated workflow).

I'd be happy to attend hangouts of this sort. We can invite the Webmaster team as well.

Here is an idea, coming out of something I missed doing at last weeks foss4gna. I had a task to figure out how to handle pull requests on github (using garret?) that I did not get around to.

I am sure other development teams have run into questions.

Is it worth setting up a more general hangout for committers and run through "common" tasks now that we have our projects set up at locationtech.
