Subject: [linuxtools-dev] What New Features Are Scheduled for 2.1?

A recent discussion on cross-project list is a cause for concern.

Apparently, the PC has determined that projects in the release train
that want to put in a minor release into SR1 or SR2 are supposed to
release those minor releases 1 month before RC1 of SR1 or SR2. This is
news to us and other projects out there based on comments on the list.
I had intended on submitting our IP log and ask for a release review
next week per our normal release schedule.

We up the minor release when API is added or UI is enhanced. The
council seems to be concerned about new features being added to the
train without some form of user testing but I may be wrong about this
and have asked for clarification. So, what new features are scheduled
for 2.1 and are they intended for the aggregation? (i.e. some of our
features only are downloadable from our update site).
From RPMStubby - perl/python/ruby stubs generations. As these are stubs(aka best effort) they can't break users stuff especially as it's entirely new functionality.
Also we can release 2.1 and make it available from our update site whenever we want but we might not be allowed to contribute it to kepler update site.

Yes, I am aware of this and that's what we'll do if we cannot get an exception.

I am hoping we can ask for an exception.
