[linuxtools-dev] Proposing Removing Autotools Compatibility Plug-in

The original autotools plug-in was split and rewritten into
autotools.core and autotools.ui in October of 2009. The original
autotools plug-in became a compatibility plug-in that would serve old
autotools projects that were created from the original plug-in. It is
not tested as part of the autotools test-suite and hasn't received much
maintenance with regards to CDT changes.
I have proposed removing it through the bug:

I would be surprised if anybody is using it, but if you are, please
indicate so. You cannot create projects using this plug-in. All new
and converted projects are in the new format. Any ancient autotools
project can be converted into the new project format simply via the
conversion wizard. Any configuration data will be lost as part of this
conversion, but this should be a minimal inconvenience.
