Re: [jsp-dev] Spec doc discussion for acronyms

Hi,

Yes indeed. Maybe we can consider renaming to just Jakarta Pages to circumvent this problem completely?

Kind regards,
Arjan

Hi,

I've been working on the Jakarta Standard Tab Library spec document updates and we have some references to the Jakarta Server Pages spec document.

As I was looking over the Jakarta Server Pages spec document I noticed that it still uses the "JSP" acronym as well as it seems to redefine "JSP" :

"The Jakarta Server Pages Technology
Jakarta Server Pages (JSP) is the Jakarta EE technology for building applications for generating
dynamic web content, such as HTML, DHTML, XHTML, and XML. JSP technology enables the easy
authoring of web pages that create dynamic content with maximum power and flexibility."

I believe we need to stop using the "JSP" acronym and fully qualify it as "Jakarta Server Pages", we can't simply redefine what "JSP" means.

I just wanted to bring this up for discussion so we can work to fix it before our final release.

Thanks,
