I am asking about the new certificates and exams and not the current ones.

would there be a specific exam for RESTful web services (using JAX-RS) only?

SOAP and REST are two different things.
There is no need for someone to learn SOAP to understand REST.

I think there must be a separate certificate for each of them.

Isn't JAX-RS as important as JPA, EJB, and JSF?

Maybe the JAX-RS team can influence them to include such a certificate so that we can prove ourselves to employers that we know how to build RESTful web services with JAX-RS.
