Re: [jakartaee-tck-dev] [cu-dev] Jakarta ee 9 concurrency project

Fred,

The Concurrency TCK is included in the jakartaee-tck repository. Adding jakartaee-tck-dev and Scott Marlow.

I'd encourage you to join the jakartaee-tck-dev list, at least while you are working on this.

Scott, have you given any thought to branch naming? It appears we are making this transition directly in the master branch. Is that correct? (Or maybe this is all decided and documented someplace?)

NM, I was assuming the TCK had similar branches to api, it doesn't.  What's the branch naming convention for TCK, or does it matter?

Which of the available branches should I be working on?  RELEASE-2.0.0-RC1?

Hi Fred,

The PR is for the GlassFish project so I’ll wait on the team there to approve.

Do you want to take the update of the TCK in the TCK project as a task. Let me know as if you don’t weant to pick up that I can.

Steve

I've reviewed your PR and it looks good, do you want me to approve it?  I ask because I've not yet approved anything in concurrency proj...

The Jakarta Concurrency 2.0.0-RC1 implementation (used in GlassFish) is now in maven central https://search.maven.org/artifact/org.glassfish/jakarta.enterprise.concurrent/2.0.0-RC1/jar

I also have a PR out to integrate this with GlassFish 6.0.0 https://github.com/eclipse-ee4j/glassfish/pull/22948

Does that help?

Steve

Steve,

In your last post, you said "Standalone Compatible Implementation is staged", what CI are you talking about?  I know the 1.1 TCK uses gf for it's ci, but I wouldn't consider it standalone.  I'm mostly finished with updates to the TCK User's Guide and  I'm going to be ready to start testing the TCK changes soon...

Hi Fred,

On the Jakarta Concurrency API, Compatible Imp and Spec most things are done or close to done. However a second pair of eyes reviewing everything for ballot would be appreciated. Also we haven’t started on the TCK so if you want to have a go at that feel free.

I moved the discussion that had been in the platform ML to here to avoid spamming everyone with cu specific stuff.  In response to Kevin's request for volunteers to help push wave 0 projects thru, I had offered to help with concurrency.  Based on your note Steve, the status of concurrency project seems to be:

"API is done.
Standalone Compatible Implementation is staged (I can push that to maven central soon).
First cut of the spec document is done. I'm waiting for our graphic designer to update some of the images.
I haven't done anything on the TCK."

Do you need any help on the spec?  Review maybe?  Wrt to the TCK, I can start taking a look at it if no one else is.
