Here's a contrived version of the issue I saw when I was working on the installer.  Just adding the white background alleviates the whole issue.

We do need to make sure that it is shown in place of the default eclipse logo on all platforms in all places. That is a matter of configuring the product properly and I just never thought it was worth my time. If you put in a bug report, we can try to work it in before the release.

As far as a full-scale overhaul of the logo, we can't do that again so soon after the last one. Some people are only now starting to recognize this one instead over the last one.
