Thanks for showing your interest for contributing in Hono. I would suggest looking into Matrix [1] as well, it is a more recent chat protocol that is also designed to support some IoT oriented features

I want to participate to google summer of code contributing to the Eclipse Hono project creating an new protocol adapter ad described at topic 1. I have done a project with CoAP with java and arduino the last semester and I am familiar with these protocols.

I found XMPP and DDS with no protocol adapters and I am searching information about them to implement one of them. What else do I have to look for and be aware of? Thanks.
