Re: [epp-dev] new package in EPP

It is a good question. The affects of adding a new package to EPP is quite wide. They are quite visible and care should be made in that decision. It's hard to know since the packages are the face of the Eclipse IDE.

I understand the technical reasons why we want the CDT standalone debugger to be an EPP package. It's less clear whether it satisfies the spirit of EPP.

Subject: [epp-dev] new package in EPP

Hello,

What is the process to get a new package in EPP?

While I have commit rights it doesn't seem right for me to just go make one just like that? Is there a vote or similar? Or, is the EPP not the place that this decision gets made.

(This is related to my discussion started last week - I just wanted to split this question out first.)

Thank you for your input.
Jonah
