[eclipse-dev] eclipse v3.0 on linuxPPC

Hey all,

(if this is the wrong forum, or if there is a searchable archive I've 
missed, please point me in the right direction)

I would like to run Eclipse v3.0 on my linuxPPC laptop.  However IBM 
offers only a v1.4.1 JDK and Eclipse 3.0 requires v1.4.2.

How critical is the 1.4.2 requirement?  Am I safe munging the build to 
accept my v1.4.1 JDK?  Is there another alternative I'm missing?
