Re: [ecd-pmc] ECD Planning Council representatives

I made some comments on the bug.

I believe that an email to the Planning Council with a statement that indicates that the project is following the rules for participating in the simultaneous release and some level of confidence that they're not going to break anything should do the job. I recommend getting the project team to craft the message. I can help.

I've sent a private note to David Williams, the Planning Council Chair to introduce you. He should respond with some pointers.

I've added you as the Planning Council rep for ECD, so sometime tonight, you'll be added to the mailing list.

Hey!

I am obviously fine with that, only in order to get the exception approval from the planning council for including CFT into the Neon release train.
Would love to get your PMC-member “+1”s for that.

Cheers,
-Martin

P.S.: Wayne, please let me know what steps I should take to approach the planning council to get that exception approval. I will start immediately.

The process of getting CFT into the simultaneous release should start soon. If we wait until after March 25, they'll completely miss the M6 build. It's better to get in as soon as possible. AFAICT, they're producing builds, so they can start contributing bits to Neon as soon as the exception is granted. I'll comment more on the bug.

In the meantime, can I appoint Martin as the interim representative of the ECD PMC on the Planning Council? We can change this after your meeting.

Hey Wayne,

good points, I will add them to the list of topics for our next call (Thursday March 25).
And maybe we (you and me) should have a separate discussion about how to help the CFT project to get onto the train.

Cheers,
-Martin

Greetings ECD PMC!

I noticed that you don't have a representative on the Planning Council. John had been playing that role, but has withdrawn from the PMC. Can you please select somebody to provide that representation?

I'd like to direct your attention to Bug 485788. The Eclipse Tools for Cloud Foundry project wants to participate in the packages, but to do so must also participate in the simultaneous release. I believe that they could benefit from some PMC assistance.

While I'm at it, the PMC has no official Architecture Council representative. This is lower priority as the concerns of the ECD PMC can be represented by Martin who is an appointed member.

Wayne
