Hi
I
didn’t have a chance on the call to mention it but I think the Linux issue
in https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=216403
is just a symptom of a larger issue. The symptom relates to resolving IP
addresses on Linux. But the larger issue on all platforms is: why are we even resolving
hostnames to IP addresses? This practice will cause us grief with dynamic IP
addressing and with IPv6.
As
a general rule, shouldn’t we be using hostnames in all our EPRs instead
of IP addresses?
Regards
Bill

I had trouble getting Linux eclipse3.3 to
work with WTP, trying 3.4 to see if that helps.

The discussion of Linux this morning got me thinking... is there anyone
who would volunteer to switch their primary development environment over to
Linux? Doing so would help us find out about problems on that platform
before we get to our test phase.
