We have a need to share Theia user settings between workspaces.

As an implementation way using of Che's user preferences was chosen. But currently Che doesn't allow modification of preferences with machine token (now it is read only access). In case with Theia, it is running in sidecar, so Theia cannot change anything there. Is it ok to give write access to Che user preferences with machine token? Does somebody has any concerns / objections?
