Hi Andreas, PMC,

 

I asked the project about their community's sustainability, and if they could find a 3rd committer. Here is their answer:

 

"There are probably over a hundred engineers behind the scenes working on these software components not to mention many more working on other aspects of uProtocol implementations/extensions that are not covered under the sdk & android project scopes. The initial PoR was to only onboard myself and a few developers that would maintain the external project till the time (hopefully in the very near future) when we would switch active development from internal repos to external repos, do you see any issues with this plan?"

 

I'm not sure how to read that, so I'll leave it up to you. :-)

Sure! The project is reportedly going to add more committers (we warned them that it would require election if it comes too late, but it's fine) soon, as it is backed by a big company (GM) and is part of the SDV initiative.

I'll ask them to try harder to add more committers asap and will let you know.
