[adoptium-wg] Adoptium Summit summary and Open Community for Java next steps

Dear Adoptium WG members,

I have been giving some updated about Adoptium Summit using our Slack Space, but I wanted to share the news with all the members:
  • We had a total of 8 sessions in a combination of 35 minutes and lightning talks; this approach allowed the community to showcase all the work done on different projects (thank you again for your time and dedication). The recording is available on our Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHSrdC_jcrw and it will be part of the event page as well: https://www.eclipse.org/events/2024/adoptium-summit/
  • We had 205 registered (Target was 200) and an avg of 35 Live attendees (target 20-40).
  • Please help us amplify the final post from our social media, Linkedin, and X.
  • Thanks to the member representatives involved in the program committee and Hosting; your contribution was valuable in shaping this first edition.
About Open Community for Java, in Mainz, Germany, 22-24 October, this is our Q4 event, and now that we have the final agenda for our Java event and as mentioned during the Adoptium Summit, this will be an excellent opportunity to meet, collaborate with and learn from other Community members.

There are some community members whose talks were accepted for both the OCJ and OCX main Tracks, such as Hendrik Ebbers, Daniel Scanteinau, Scott Fryer, Pushkar Kulkarni, Shelley Lambert, Kenji Kazumura, and Stewart Addison. It would be helpful if you could amplify their sessions when published on our social media.

If you are not already attending as a speaker, remember that if you register before September 23, you will get the early bird pricing.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about the event. Do you need help convincing your manager to approve attendance? Check out our helpful guide

Thank you!
