Executive Director Report

Mike Milinkovich, executive director of Eclipse Foundation presented a review of the current activities within the Eclipse Foundation and an overview of the future strategy. His presentation can be found here.

New Strategic Developers

Two new strategic developers were announced: IONA and Nokia. Representatives from each company presented on their plans for Eclipse related projects. Nokia's presentation can be found here. IONA's presentation can be found here.

Project Update

Bjorn Freeman-Benson, Technical Director of the Eclipse Foundation presented a status update on the different Eclipse projects. The presentation can be found here.

Member Spotlight: Macromedia

Phil Costa of Macromedia presented an experience report on Macromedia's use of Eclipse and their plans for releasing an Eclipse based IDE for Flex development.

Project Spotlight: Eclipse Web Tools Platform

Tim Wagner, PMC Leader for the Web Tools Platform project gave an overview of the project and the future plans. His presentation can be found here.

Add-in Providers Requirement Sessions

Rich Main, Todd Williams and Howard Lewis, the Eclipse Add-in Provider Representatives on the Board, led a number of break-out sessions to develop a prioritize list of requirements from the Add-in Providers. This list will be used as input into the Requirements Council. The tabulated list can be found here.

Business Research - 'Competing on a Common Platform'

Siobhan O'Mahoney from Harvard Business School has begun to undertake some business research into the dynamics of open source communities and in particular Eclipse. Her presentation highlighted the different aspects of her research and requested participation of the different member companies. Her presentation is available here.
