Basically, we use Jetty as web container because it's very light comparing with Tomcat. The feature we use from Jetty are some specific servlet filters like gzip, antidos and some specific options like dirAllowed and possibly another configuration option. I haven't researched about these homologous features in Tomcat, but probably all we want to do it will be possible with Tomcat.
Anyway, what's the reason to discontinue the Jetty version? What changes would be needed in the Virgo to support the new version of Jetty in Virgo 3.7? Maybe I can test these changes if you consider interesting.
