Re: [technology-pmc] Request approval of Samuel Padgett to Eclipse Lyo Project Lead

I'm going to call that overwhelming support.

I've updated the database.

Thanks to Samuel for stepping up into the role.

The Lyo project already has two leads. It's not wrong (or unprecedented) to have three project co-leads, but it is a little odd.

Is this what you intend?

Thanks,

Wayne

Dear Technology PMC,

I'm writing to request approval of Samuel Padgett to Eclipse Lyo Project Lead per the process defined at [1].  I have received no -1s [2] and met the minimum of at least 3 +1s [3],[4],[5]  (also have seen community support as well [2]).

Thanks,
Steve Speicher

Subject: [lyo-dev] [Attention Lyo Committers] Nomination of Samuel Padgett to Eclipse Lyo Project Lead -- NEED YOUR VOTE

Lyo Committers,

Samuel Padgett shown over time a consistent level of contributions, reviews and general enablement support in the Eclipse Lyo project, I propose to make him co-lead of the Lyo Project.  Based on the process for selecting a project lead [1], it needs to come from the project committers and need at least 3 +1's.  Committers **only**, simply reply to this email sending to lyo-dev with your vote: +1 support, -1 against.

So fellow committers, please respond with a +1 (or -1) by end of day Monday, September 16, 2013.

Sam has been a contributor since the early days of the Lyo project and become a committer back in January 2012 [2].  Ohloh shows him as being one of the most active in the project [3].

Some of the contributions that Sam has done (not a complete list by far) that show he has proven he warrants the nomination to project lead are:

 - improvements of the daily builds to provide more frequent and valuable outputs

 - publication of key assets to public Maven repository

 - improvements in overall source code project structure to assist with getting started and navigation

 - contribution of Linked Data Platform reference implementation

 - assisting many contributors with ensuring their commits make it through cleanly

 - assisting many consumers overcoming obstacles for successful adoption.

 - and much more

Ohloh and Eclipse tools show activity of members, which you'll see how active Sam is across wiki contributions, mailing list, bugzilla and git.

By being becoming project lead, this will enable Sam to function in full capacity with certain functions in Eclipse that require project lead access for various project maintenance and release management.  This will help greatly with the upcoming release of Lyo 2.0 and further release development.
