[technology-pmc] Re: Fw: [emf-dev] New Compare Component for EMFT/EMF

Bjorn,
Yes, I meant Eclipse Legal and was assuming
the ipzilla with the approval would make that clear.
Here are the links to the releveant
bugzillas as well as the attachment of the project proposal, which includes
the names of the initial committers:
http://dev.eclipse.org/ipzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1039
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=157166
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=161382
We held a vote on the EMF and EMFT newsgroups.
There were no -1s.
http://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/lists/emft-dev/msg00031.html
http://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/lists/emf-dev/msg00289.html
I'm sending this note to the technology
PMC for their approval before I make the provisioning requests.

Ed,
Looks good. I would suggest one next step and one wording change:
1. Wording - I think by "The code contribution has already been reviewed
and approved by Eclipse." that you meant "by Eclipse Legal"?
If so, you should be clear.
2. Send an email to the technology-pmc@xxxxxxxxxxx
mailing list with the information below (the "cool new component,
here're the bug #s, etc"). I will reply on that list and then there
will be a public record for the community to see.

Bjorn,
I've been trying to do a good job following processes and carefully
defining the rules for anything that doesn't seem well defined.
So I hope
I'm doing things properly and look to your helpful advice and insights
to
lead me the right way should I go astray. I'm sure this vote will
conclude successfully with and at that point I'd like to provision a new
component within EMFT to contain this work. Obviously I will seek
the
approval of the Technology PMC for that, and that's why I'm sending you
this note. Will what I've done here be sufficient to get that approval
so
that I can make the provisioning request along with asking folks to fill
out the new committer forms?

[emf-dev] New Compare Component for
PM
EMFT/EMF
Please respond to
Eclipse Modelling
Framework
<emf-dev@eclipse.
org>
Folks,
I'd like to ask you to review this proposal for a cool new component in
EMFT.
The code contribution has already been reviewed and approved by Eclipse.
http://dev.eclipse.org/ipzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1039
The code is also available as attachments in
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=157166
and
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=161382.
I'd like to ask each of the EMFT and EMF committers to vote according to
the process I documented in the wiki at
http://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php/Modeling_Project_Organization.
(Yes, I
know how to use a wiki now!)
I.e., please respond with your +1 or -1 votes via replies to this note.
The proposal has my +1 already...
