Hi all,

I've opened a ticket asking that the unexpected/unintended email subscriptions be investigated: Unexpected subscriptions to pass-dev email list (#4239) · Issues · Eclipse Foundation / Help Desk · GitLab.

best,
Bill

Hi Bill,

Because of this discussion I noticed that I’m also unintentionally subscribed to the PASS mailing list (while being intentionally subscribed to the openPASS list).

This somehow reminds me of the “AI mailing list incident” a few months ago: https://gitlab.eclipse.org/eclipsefdn/helpdesk/-/issues/3779

Regards,

Reinhard

Hi Arun (and any others on the openPASS team),

You are correct, the review of committers I mentioned will only impact the Public Access Submission System (PASS) project found here: Eclipse Public Access Submission System (PASS) | projects.eclipse.org. I don't know why my email would have gone to anyone working on the openPASS project unless you are subscribed to the pass-dev email list: Mailing list: pass-dev (73 subscribers) | Eclipse - The Eclipse Foundation open source community website. It appears that the equivalent list for openPASS is openpass-dev: Mailing list: openpass-dev (28 subscribers) | Eclipse - The Eclipse Foundation open source community website.

best,

Bill

Hi Bill,

not sure why I got this mail at all, but somehow our projects “PASS” and “openPASS” seem to be too similar in naming. However, your cleanup only affects the project “PASS”, correct? So if anyone from our “openPASS” project got the mail, we are not affected.

Thanks,

Arun

Hi everyone,

This is notice that I am working to clean up the PASS project committer list. To ensure that the list reflects currently active and engaged project committers, I plan to retire anyone listed as a committer (https://projects.eclipse.org/projects/technology.pass/who) but who has not engaged in the project for 6 months or more. If that's you and you'd like to retire yourself, there are instructions for doing this here: https://www.eclipse.org/projects/handbook/#elections-retire-cm. If that's you and you'd really like to remain a committer, please get in touch with me before the end of the week: 1/2/2024. I will move forward with retirement steps next week. Retired committers are moved to the "Historical Committers" section of the project page and git project access will be removed. Thanks to everyone for your work on PASS. Even if it has been a while, your contribution helped to make the project successful.

best,

Bill
