Hey!
I would like to introduce you all to our three Google Summer of Code students that got selected to work on Eclipse Flux for the next bit of time.
The students are:
Xin Wei
Will focus on the “instant collaboration feature” for Flux, as mentioned in this bug:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=486456
Fjodor Verspinn
Will focus on a pure filesystem-based implementation of the Flux sync mechanism, so that you can use Flux to sync files on disc. Will improve the work that was done here:
https://github.com/Serli/flux-file-watcher
(this might also move into a collaboration with people at the Eclipse Che project.)
Ihor Yatsenko
Could focus on "Reimplement the realtime editing to use operational transformations.” to make this underlying mechanism robust and production-ready.
I think it is awesome that they are on board for this project.
Lets give them a warm welcome!!!
I encouraged them to getting involved with the community via this mailing list channel. So please provide some help when they have issues, asking questions, etc.
Cheers,
-Martin
