Also potentially relevant here: We are currently working on a way to "launch" a new server (e.g. using a different port, or using a subdomain, or things like 127.0.0.2) that would expose files and folders from Orion without password protection: see https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=335789
