sure, will try to get m-bundle-p to do what I want.

Yes, in Code Recommenders proper we use Require-Bundle. Alas, on the
data mining (aka server) side of things, we need some classes that are
only part of the more comprehensive o.e.m2e.maven.runtime, so we prefer
it there over the slimmed down o.e.recommenders.aether. The problems
arise when you want to have a bundle that can be both used on the server
and the client, i.e., in the IDE.
