There would be no issue regarding API. The project is still incubating and it's been stated multiple times (including on the release records) that it shouldn't be considered as API.

Some integrators do use the code as APIs, and were warned, but are following the project closely enough to make it still work for them or to quickly adapt to new changes.

So at the moment, it's no issue at all ;)
