Re: [jwt-dev] Google SoC proposal acceptions announced

Hi Hasano
That's the spirit :) Nonetheless, BPMN(2) and jBPM/jPDL remain hot stuff
at JWT.
Well, you'll be warmly welcome to contribute, obviously. Note that if
you work on SOA-related stuff, it could be mentioned in Eclipse SOA's
common upcoming article, and we're always looking for ideas to propose
talks about at Eclipse Summit / Con / Forum / [your favorite java summit
here].

Marc

Hi all,
I feel a little bit discouraging myself but only little, because I was
uberbusy during last days :o)
Anyway I still want to contribute some of my free time to the project.
2010/4/30, Marc Dutoo <marc.dutoo@xxxxxxxxxxx>:
Hi Florian, all
That is unfortunate indeed, for JWT and first and foremost for Ilshat.
I think the JWT Views framework is great, and now what would be needed
is time and work, as the GSOC proposal outlined. Alas I won't have those
for that right away. However I'm going to make small improvements before
the summer, thanks to one of our customer.

Marc

Hi all,
as alas you can read in the email below we were again unfortunate and the
student proposal for GSoC concerning JWT and BPMN was not selected :-(
So either we find another funding possibility or we discuss what our
future
possibilities for extending the JWT metamodel and creating a new view
would
look like.
Right now I don't find much time to work for JWT, but there might be more
chance from July on... I'll keep you posted.
But it would be nice if we already have some steps towards this goal until
then (which would then be integrated in Helios, too)...
Any ideas how we could accomplish that?
Best regards,
Florian

Hello Everyone!
Congratulations to all the mentors and students involved in this year SoC
proposal process!
We managed to get 1 additional slot so Eclipse, mentors and students have
11
SoC projects to run this summer!
All 11 projects were putting real hard effort into the proposal and making
sure they get the attention from the mentors and the community.
We all have high expectations now as the number of funded projects was
half
of what we had last year -- meaning only the best from the best got
through.
Lots of very good good(!!) proposals were left out. Thank you and if your
proposal did not win, please try again next year if you're still eligible.
Feel free to approach me or any other org admin for guidance how to get
maximum out of this process as early as possible.
Now, all accepted students and mentors [1], please keep reading!!
Let's start with small things like making sure you have user account with
wiki editing permissions.
http://wiki.eclipse.org/Google_Summer_of_Code_2010 page already lists all
the projects (thanks Benny!).
All you need to do is bootstrap your own page by following the guidelines
at
the front-page.
Include as much information as you can! It all helps you, your mentor and
the whole eclipse soc team.
Feel free to learn from last year pages regarding formatting and content
hints.
Additionally, there will be several ways to start communicating with the
whole eclipse soc team, including freenode #eclipse-soc channel and your
own
blog :)
I encourage everyone to have or set up a blog to start reporting weekly
progress and engaging community to your project! The earlier the better!
The GOOD thing about keeping a blog is that it makes it easy for you to
get
listed at planet eclipse (http://www.planeteclipse.org/planet/).
You get TONS of great audience by being there!
Of course getting there means you first need to run your blog for a while
with a proven posting habits :)
Let me know if you get confused by anything and we'll figure it out!
On behalf of eclipse soc admins,
Ahti
