I did some work on the JWT website trying to give it more of a typical
"Eclipse look", however it is not completely finished and maybe you have
some suggestions or comments on what should be changed/added.
I created new FAQ and Developer FAQ wiki pages to allow quick access to
frequently asked questions both of users and committers.
Thanks for changing the layout of the website. Yes, you're right, now it's
much more Eclipse-specific and probably submenus are now better to find. In
the Wiki there are still some pages which contain German text which should
probably be changed in the future, but the design is fine for me.
Especially the FAQ and Developer FAQ are a good idea and hopefully help
people to better understand what we are doing or where to find something.
Also, I've changed the layout of the CVS (and updated the corresponding
CVS wiki page), so that the currently available WE Plugins (view+action
example, uml view, documentation) are located in the
"org.eclipse.jwt/we/jwt-we-plugins/" directory rendering the
"we/jwt-plugin-sample", "we/jwt-we-doc" and "we/jwt-we-view-uml" directories
obsolete (do you know how these can be deleted?).
The changes made on the CVS are good. I got permissions to delete something
on the CVS; however this (the deletion of files on CVS) should not be used
too often, especially for files where already several versions exist (such
as plugin-sample, we-doc, etc.). With every movement of such a directory to
another location we are loosing the older revisions of the files. But this
time I guess it's okay, so I'll delete the folders that are not used
anymore. Additionally this leads to problems if somebody has already checked
out the files and wants to make an update and the folder on CVS is not
available anymore...
If anybody sees a problem in moving existing files on CVS to a different
location, please let me know (especially this time for the projects
jwt-plugin-sample, jwt-we-doc and jwt-we-view-uml).
In order to have a central download site that provides easy access to JWT
components (JWT_Downloads in wiki), I tried to move the packages located in
"we/jwt-we-deploy" (which will be also obsolete once the files have been
transferred) on the CVS to the official download server, so that they can be
directly linked, but I could not establish a SCP or SFTP connection to the
download1.eclipse.org server (as described in the FAQ in Eclipse Portal). Am
I perhaps missing the rights to access the download area or did I just
forget something?
Concering the central download site: I also got permissions for that site
and already uploaded the documentation, sourcecode and other files that were
in the jwt-we-deploy\v040. However, I won't upload older revisions (such as
v030), because we don't have an official release for these files, so I guess
we shouldn't allow people to download them and remove them from the CVS
completely!?
