I am happy this will be considered for EE 11 Platform specification but, I don't believe it should be a requirement for Web Profile. Without making this a requirement, vendors are still allowed to include EE component implementations in their Web Profile products (providing they meet the stand-alone TCK requirements) -- it simply is not a requirement for all web profile products. Should Jakarta Data successfully be added in EE 11, product teams that desire this component as a data access layer in their Web Profile implementation, are welcome to include Jakarta Data (just as they are currently allowed to include Jakarta Persistence).

Non-committers are encouraged to vote as a measure of community sentiment.

 

This BALLOT will run until Thursday 2023-08-31 23:59 EDT or when all committers have voted, whichever comes first.
