Hi Julien,
How did you actually create the wiki? I know that there is an option to activate the wiki on a project, but I thought that only webmaster has the right to change this (at least I cannot access the settings for Eclipse SmartHome). Imho, this probably needs a similar discussion as Bugzilla vs. Github Issues. Only this time Eclipse Wiki vs. Github wiki… But in general, I support the idea to allow using it. As you say, getting hold of the data as a backup is fairly easy since it is nothing else but another git repo.
Regards, Kai
Hi,
I explored a little the github wiki today. In fact it's just a git repository with the articles stored as simple .md (markdown) files. For example I created a page on the Leshan wiki: https://github.com/eclipse/leshan/wikiYou can get the markdown files by cloning: git clone https://github.com/eclipse/leshan.wiki.git
So I suppose nothing stop eclipse project to use the github wiki since it's just a git repository which we can backup easily?
