| Hi Jens,

No need to be sorry, that is your job as PMC to understand the details :-)

Yes, there are indeed package imports (and that’s why the code is needed at compile time), but the library itself (neither sources nor binary) need to be hosted anywhere at Eclipse, nor will it be distributed in any way.

mDNS support is (exactly similar to UPnP support) an optional feature for Eclipse SmartHome, so users do not have to use it - therefore it should qualify for a works-with dependency.

 Best regards, Kai

    Hello Kai,

sorry for going into detail again ... ;-)

You mean that you need it only to compile the code? And don't do
any "package imports" or other references to the library?

I just ask because I have trouble understanding the use case of
      JmDNS during build time.

      Thanks for your patience

      Jens

      Hi,

Note that the previous version 3.4.1 has already
been approved for reuse (CQ #7795), but as it is just an external
dependency, which is for now only needed to compile the code and
which is available on an external p2 repository, a works-with is
        good enough for me.

      Best regards,
      Kai
