However, one of the things I noticed here is that this channel includes all 'Eclipse Foundation' related topics (IoT, LocationTech, etc...). I get the sense that some users are finding our messaging confusing (one reason we have an IDE Dev List). I've seen comments like this in a few places (this one is on Mike's blog):

while your own product is a steaming pile of brown and stinky (because you’ve been focusing 100% on the foundation and IoT blablabla and other non-IDE concerns) is surely wildly inappropriate

I don't think that working on IoT precludes IDE Dev work from happening, but we may want to separate the messaging especially around our getting started guides / new users, etc...

I like the idea of more aggressively advertising our IDE features on the web pages and especially on a combined IDE page. JDT is definitely willing to participate here, but only to provide the content and not the design. Like Doug and Ian, I don't think FEEP money would be good spent here.

If JDT and CDT are committed to providing content, I will fund the web page design out of my marketing budget. I won't have time to work on this before EclipseCOn Europe but hopefully we can get started sometime late November.

BTW, another interesting idea is to record how-to videos. I’ve done that for the Arduino C++ plug-ins. Do we have an Eclipse Youtube channel?
