How about just putting this on hold and get Lucas to do a bunch of
his work as pull requests or patches and then once a record is
established put this through.
I am in a similar situation in that I have done a bunch of commits
(probably more than Lucas but of less complexity) and would not mind
becoming a committer. After talking to Winston about this we
concluded that I will just do patch contributions when the need
comes up and become a committer at a later stage.

Has this commit been pushed into the corresponding eclipse.org
repository? I can find no evidence of it. Which leads me to the
next important question: how can this be? There is clear evidence
of activity in the eclipse.org repositories, so some changes are
making in there. But apparently not all.

Hey Hudson folks.
The election of Lucas Panjer cannot be approved until
suitable merit is established in a transparent manner.
The initial nomination notice [1] went out on Dec 2/2011
with only "Initial contributor from Task top." as the
nomination criteria. My concern about the nomination
criteria, sent out a note on Dec 10/2011 [2], has not
received a response.
FWIW, I did try to dig into this myself; I see no evidence
of any prior participation by Lucas in any of Bugzilla,
IPZilla, or in the project's IP Log.
Hi Wayne,
Just FYI, digging into the github/svn history I did find
the following commit by Lucas to Hudson core from last
November:
