Re: [henshin-dev] henshin & graphical editor

Hi Amalia,
yes, I think this is possible. With the ecore2genmodel solution you
have a good example of such an "exogenous" model-to-model
transformation at hand.
You should have a look at this website:
http://wiki.eclipse.org/Henshin_Transformation_Rules. It does not
describe Henshin with all its facets but gives at least a short
overview. I know that documentation still needs to be addressed by
us. You will also find a link to a graphical editor which you may
find convenient to use. However, please take a look at our examples
plugin, which contains some example transformations. Furthermore, I
attached some papers you may find useful for your work.
Best regards,
Stefan

Hi
Stefan,
Thanks
for the reply!
I
just got a time to work on this again. I guess the way to do
this is to create a Java file (like an ecore2genmodel file)
that does this transformation from a diagram file to
henshin’s graph. Do you think it’s possible to do this? If
it is possible, are there any resources or info that I can
look into to start it? For example an API of henshin and so
on…

Hi Amalia,
I don't think so. Since BPMN model and Henshin transformation
model are completely different, you cannot "substitute" one
with the other.
You should consider model-to-model transformation to achive
something similar.
I hope I got your question right...?!
Best regards,
Stefan

Hello,
I’ve generated a graphical editor for BPMN
using Eugenia. Is there a way to be able to read the diagram
made from the graphical editor in Henshin? (So, instead of
creating a Graph in Henshin, I want to be able to read it
straight from the BPMN diagram file…)

Kind regards,
