DBAccess can be build on the Eclipse
Hudson since last month (see below) including a P2 update
site. I had been planning to release that as version 1.1 of
DBAccess. For version 1.0, I still wanted to original
version (manual build).
Now Gemini JPA seems to move
towards Tycho/Maven too. Are there plans to release that
Maven/Tycho version of Gemini JPA? I think it would be
really nice if DBAccess and JPA would do the Maven/Tycho
switch together, and I would not mind releasing the
DBAccess 1.0 in that format.
I would like to get the Maven w/Tycho stuff going, but am not sure
if I will get it done before the release. I don't really see it as a
prerequisite to the release, but it would be nice.
If so, how does that affect the
release review and the IP Log approval that both projects
already had had? I that the problem?
I don't see that using the build tools that exist on Eclipse servers
have any real bearing on our project IP logs.
I would also like to update the
project meta data. If DBAccess 1.0 is “migrated” to
Maven/Tycho I would at least like to have another release
candidate. Because of vacation, I would have to do that
within the next few days. As a possible release date I would
suggest Beginning of October.
I would think you should go ahead and do that. JPA will follow suit
soon.
Our plan was to release before October, though.

I
have managed to create a Hudson job that builds DBAccess
(jars, tests, update site):
It
also contains the P2 update site. Though it isn't thought
to be an official download site (right now, there is no
step that copies the artifacts to the download area), it
can be used in the target definition of your PDE projects
(in the Eclipse IDE). If you want to try it:
