Hallo Michael,
as stated in https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=363394, I cleaned the GEF update sites in order to switch to the new build system (I moved the old contents to updates-pre-3_8, so that explains what you see there). While doing so, I re-created the releases site (so it contains all GEF releases from 3.5.0 onwards, which it up to now didn't) and I also directly promoted a new build to the interim site. I left the milestone site empty, because the build does not tag sources yet and I wanted to only promote milestone builds that can be properly traced down to the sources. However, as this seems to cause problems, I have now published the last stable build as sort of a "post-M4" milestone build to the site, so you should be able to consume it (however, it is likely this build will be removed when promoting the first real milestone build, i.e. M5).
Concerning the update site urls and their intended usage, nothing has changed. That is, releases and milestones will be published to the milestones and releases sites according to the Eclipse Simultaneous Release plan (i.e. M5 is to be expected on 30/01/2012). Concerning the interim site, I currently think of promoting a build on a weekly bases by means of a cron job, as well as manual maintenance builds in case this is needed).
Cheers Alexander

You will need to join the cross-project-issues-dev
mailing list and answer this question. There is no download.eclipse.org/tools/gef/updates/milestones
folder anymore, not sure if that was intended. Guess they need to use interim
for Juno until we produce a milestone build?
Cheers...

GEF milestones not available?

Hi,
we (the Graphiti project) are using the
same GEF update site for our Juno version, also the Juno aggregation points
there.
I checked the filesystem, the folder is
gone, instead there is a folder update-site/milestones and a updates-pre-3_8/milestones.
Does anybody know what the correct Juno update site to use for release
train builds is?
Thanks,
Michael

Hi,
the eTrice build relies on
http://download.eclipse.org/tools/gef/updates/milestones/
(or rather its file system equivalent)
Buckminster says
ERROR [0091] : java.lang.IllegalStateException:
Preference node "file:_home_data_httpd_download.eclipse.org_tools_gef_updates_milestones"
has been removed.
Does anybody know why this folder is
gone?
Thanks,
