Oh. Does that mean that setAlpha isn't supported on all platforms?  
Then it should be deprecated,too ;)
setAlpha(int) is a method of org.eclipse.swt.graphics.GC. It's a non- 
deprecated, public method of the SWT package.  
org.eclipse.swt.graphics.GC.setXORMode(boolean) _is_ deprecated!
