Hi all,

Just to make everyone aware of this: if you place an emoji in GitLab, e.g. on a comment, nobody gets a notification about this, even with 'Watch' notification level. Thus, if it is your intent that people will be aware of the emoji, e.g. because you're indicating that you approve something with a 'thumbs up' emoji, then it may be better to use a comment instead (e.g. '+1'). There are GitLab issues that request notifications for emoji, but those feature requests are still open.
