I am wondering why anything outside of
core.runtime and equinox would be using this.  Shouldn't you be using
one of the following to get an ILog object?

org.eclipse.core.runtime.Plugin.getLog()
org.eclipse.core.runtime.Platform.getLog(Bundle)

In Equinox everything eventually ends
up going through the OSGi LogService API.  But the ILog stuff from
Eclipse has additional listener support.  So if the UI bundles stop
using the ILog API then anything using ILog to listen for log entries from
the UI may miss them.

Hi,

in Platform UI we use in several places RuntimeLog.log which is internal
API.

Does Equinox provide an official logging API which we should switch to?
