Re: [equinox-dev] JXTA and Equinox
|
Hi Ali,
The Eclipse Communication Framework [1] project has a provider
architecture, allowing the use of arbitrary protocols to implement
common APIs.
Some years ago, one of our committers (Pierre Henry-Perret) did some
work to implement a jxta provider [2]. This work was not
completed...however, I believe some of it can/could be migrated
forward. I'm including Pierre on this thread so that he can be engaged
directly.
As I recall, the classnotfound issues reported on the bug [2] were due
to some of the third party lib dependencies in jxta (e.g. log4j) not
being resolved correctly. With Orbit and/or other means, these issues
are easily resolved.

Hello everyone.
I was wondering if anyone has successfully tried using JXTA (or JXSE,
to be more precise) and Equinox. Searching for OSGi and JXTA on Google
gives a bunch of hits but the reports are mixed and mostly talk about
some classloader issues and haven't seen any successful report so I
thought maybe someone on this list may have tried or know of such an
effort.
Many thanks
Ali.
