Re: [equinox-dev] [prov] Profile change discovery at startup
|
In order to achieve reconciliation on startup, you would have to run a
different bootstrap phase where the agent would be involved (currently only
simpleconfigurator is consulted on startup). From a high level view, this
resemble a lot what Maya is doing where it reconciles the local
installation against a server stored profile (their notion of profile).
Given that reconciliation may take a lot of time, or require user input, I
wonder if this could be run "silently", or if we would have to present the
user with the provisioning UI.
On startup, what does the user has access to?

PM discovery at startup

Hi,
How do changes to a profile get discovered at startup?
I'm asking because I'm thinking about the
hierarchical/composite/whatever profile idea and wondering how user
profiles will discover changes made to system-wide profiles the next
time they start up.
Thanks,
Andrew
