Hi Folks,

If you are able to attend, please consider submitting something for ECF/OSGi remote services, etc...to the OSGi community event at EclipseCon Europe.  Please see below.

Make sure you’re in the mix.

Don’t let the OSGi and Eclipse communities – including your competitors and partners -- talk, make plans, set priorities or resolve challenges/problems without you.

If you want to get involved in the OSGi Community Event and present don't forget to submit by August 12, 2013!

Instructions on how to submit are to be found here: http://www.osgi.org/CommunityEvent2013/HomePage

The presentations can be submitted here: http://www.eclipsecon.org/europe2013/propose-session

We look forward to see you there.

Best regards,

Susan Schwarze

CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS OPENS

"Tap into the Broader Ecosystem"

October 29-31, 2013

Ludwigsburg, Germany

The OSGi Alliance is pleased to announce the Call for Presentations opens today for the OSGi Community Event 2013, "Tap into the Broader Ecosystem," Oct. 29-31, in Ludwigsburg, Germany. Everybody in the OSGi community is invited to submit proposals by July 31, 2013, for early bird submissions or August 12, 2013, to meet the final submission deadline. The OSGi Community Event will be co-located with EclipseCon Europe again at the Forum am Schlosspark.

The OSGi Community Event will help attendees understand how others are using OSGi to compete in their own industries. Share your story of how OSGi adopters are realizing benefits with OSGi.

Suggested topics of interest for the OSGi Community Event include:

  • Improving the Developer Experience (e.g. tooling, bundle repositories, Bundle Recipe Project at Eclipse)
  • Cloud
  • Embedded
  • Enterprise
  • Device Abstraction Layer
  • M2M
  • _javascript_, C/C++
  • Use cases
  • Tutorials and training

This year's theme, "Tap into the Broader Ecosystem," highlights the unique and rising role OSGi plays in a surprising number of environments. OSGi is increasingly deployed in large-scale distributed systems as well as small, embedded devices and applications, sustaining an ecosystem that includes operators, utilities, enterprise and embedded software vendors, and device and automotive manufacturers. Offerings include enterprise application servers, enterprise service bus, customer premise equipment and telematics solutions. Accordingly, the OSGi Alliance liaises with other vertical industry consortia and supports joint standardization efforts in industry markets such as Smart Home and M2M. The Alliance supports Eclipse open source projects such as Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools, Gemini, Virgo and the SOA Platform Project.

Please submit your proposal soon. Panel proposals are welcome also and should be submitted as standard talks. Standard talks are 35 minutes for the presentation and 10 minutes for Q&A. The OSGi Community Event 2013 shares a common registration and submission system with EclipseCon Europe 2013. Please note the final submission deadline is August 12, 2013.

The OSGi Community Event attracts enterprise and embedded software architects, IT decision-makers and software leaders, as well as developers who are using OSGi as the basis for their next-generation IT infrastructure. EclipseCon Europe 2013 is Eclipse’s premier European event.
