[ecf-dev] ECF conference call notes

Hi Folks,

First, here are the notes for the ECF conference call this morning [1]

I've been making progress on the OSGi 4.2 remote services 
implementation, and I wanted to give a short status update...along with 
a notice for ECF developers consumers.

First, see [2] for status of the remote service implementation.  Things 
are going very well, I think...and I'm about 90% finished.  There is one 
more piece (DefaultProxyContainerFinder) of implementation to complete, 
along with adding to existing providers and test code.  I expect to be 
complete this week.

Second, because of the change/addition to the ecf core bundle:  i.e. 
org.eclipse.ecf, for a short while , committers and/or developers using 
ECF daily builds will have to either:

1) Load the org.eclipse.ecf project into your workspace from CVS (see 
[33] for instructions on getting the source)
2) Get the ECF platform plugins (along with sdk), and add them to your 
target platform

The reason this is necessary, is that there is some new API in the the 
ecf core, that the remote services stuff now depends upon...and Eclipse 
does not yet have these classes...and since most people get the ECF core 
bundles via Eclipse, it's necessary to do either 1 or 2 above to avoid 
class not found compile errors or runtime errors using the sdk.  NOTE:  
this is strictly temporary, until we get the new ECF core API into 
Eclipse 3.6 integration build...and then everyone that uses Eclipse 3.6 
integration/milestone builds will get the new core code.
