[ecf-dev] map files in our CVS repository

In our CVS repository ...
1.
why are there two sets of map files?
one under
cvsroot/technology/org.eclipse.ecf/builds/org.eclipse.releng.maps
another under
cvsroot/technology/org.eclipse/ecf/builds/org.eclipse.releng.workstation/maps.base

2.
why is there a maps.base directory under
cvsroot/technology/org.eclipse.ecf/builds/org.eclipse.releng.maps
and why is it empty? Note that the map files are at the same level as maps.base.

3.
why is there a maps.base directory under
cvsroot/technology/org.eclipse/ecf/builds/org.eclipse.releng.server
and why is it empty? Note that org.eclipse.releng.server has no map files.

I usually just send mail like this to Scott and sometimes Pete; and so
if it's inappropriate for this list, let me know.
