Re: [cdt-dev] Makefile project created with new project wizard cannot resolve standard includes
|
It's one of the sadest mistakes we made along the way, making Makefile projects from managed build. That's one of the things I want to fix with the new template and Core Build.
Feel free to fix up the wording in the template descriptions to make it clearer, though.
Doug.

Ah, I see what you mean: if you select e.g. "C++ Managed Build" on the first page, you get the first page of the old wizard, where you can then select "Makefile project". I didn't realize that.
That said, someone who wants to create a Makefile project might not know that, and think their only choice is to select the experimental "Makefile" option on the first page. (And in any case, it's fairly counter-intuitive that the way to create a Makefile project is to select a "Managed Build" option.)

Nate

It's not that hidden. It's the C and C++ Managed Build templates. They start up the old wizards.

Thanks, that's good to know.
The question remains: why are we hiding the old wizard if it's replacement is not ready?

Nate
