CDT project files (.cdtbuild & .cdtproject) don't appear to contain the CDT version number that was used to create them.  A version number is very useful in at least a couple of scenarios:

*                 You need to make an incompatible change in the file format.  CDT would be able to detect and convert old project files.
*                 The user attempts to load a newer project file into an older version of CDT.  CDT can detect this and issue a warning or error.
