Dear Steffen,
the topic of Control Components is mainly managed by ACPLT of RWTH Aachen. For additional information to that mentioned
in the Wiki, please contact Julian Grothoff (j.grothoff@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx).
Currently, the state machines as described in the wiki (https://wiki.eclipse.org/BaSyx_/_Documentation_/_API_/_ControlComponent)
are implemented and supported. The next iterations of the control component (e.g. these profiles) are currently being discussed in the project and will be implemented after agreement.
Best regards,
Frank Schnicke

Betreff: [basyx-dev] BaSyx 4.2 ControlComponent
Dear BaSyx developer eam,
My name is Steffen Beermann and I am currently working on my Master Thesis in the Field of Information Systems at the University of Osnabrück in Germany.
The topic of my thesis to implement a sematic integration layer for an small production line with the help of OPC UA and (hopefully) with BaSyx 4.2.
Currently I try to understand how the BaSyx SDK works and what is currently possible to estimate if I can use it for my use case.
I installed your SDK and studied the examples given in the SDK and the documentation in the Eclipse Wiki. The “ControlComponentProfiles” Wiki page mentions that this part of the BaSys project
is current work in progress and will be changed eventually.
The functionality of the ControlComponent (to let the devices publish their services through BaSyx) would be a key requirement for the given use case of my Thesis.
So I would like to ask you if you can give me any information about the current state of the development of the ControlComponent in the BaSyx 4.2 SDK and if there are any resources on this topic
that I can get access too.
Thanks you in advance and best regards,
Steffen Beermann
