Yes, that was my fault. I've been working
so our "infrastructure" (script files) are more similar to those
in the Orbit builds ... another build I help maintain ... and there's some
obscure Java 1.5 and Ant interaction that only happens on the PPC build
machine (not on my local x86 machines). I may experiment later, but for
now, changed back to using Java 1.4 for our "default" ant task
(that's not the one used for Unit tests). 

That seemed to restore things to their
previous state, and it's compiled now and JUnit tests are running.
