Re: [wtp-releng] Smoke Test Request for WTP 3.0 I-I20071213184407-20071213184407

Assuming this isn't a rhetorical question (it seems to get asked a lot), that's because our download page is now smart enough to know that the link no longer exists at the GEF site,  so prevents you from getting a "404" error.  When this is the case, that there is no clickable link, you should use the "equivalent" link to get the latest, equivalent one, and use that.

Ideally this would never happen, if our trusty build master was on toes and updated pre-reqs, and if our pre-req projects did a smarter job of managing their download sites ... but, normally does no harm so is not high priority, most weeks. Especially when I'm having a bad week as it is! :)

The build itself still works because unlike some of us :) it's smart enough to download things when they are first used, and save's a copy around for a while so the next time it doesn't have to download it and uses what it already has.

Hope this is what you were asking, and not "why hasn't anyone updated the pre-req lately", which would have a whole different type of answer.

I have noticed that for a couple of days already, there is no link being generated for downloading GEF from the build website. Why is this?

Please smoketest the below WTP 3.0 I build and update the smoketest page with your results.  Thank you!

Build

http://download.eclipse.org/webtools/committers/drops/R3.0/I-I20071213184407-20071213184407/

Smoketest Results

http://wiki.eclipse.org/WTP_Smoke_Test_Results_R30_121307

Note:

There are 2 JUnit failures on this build
1) org.eclipse.jst.j2ee.tests.bvt.AutomatedBVT => is an intermittent failure and does not affect the fitness of the build

2)
org.eclipse.jst.jsp.core.tests.JSPCoreTestSuite => JSP team is looking into this failure, but it should not affect smoketest for the other components
3) There is an error in the property editor of the Web Page Editor that is a blocker.  This is specific to the JSF project and should not affect other projects.   Please see
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=212936 for details
