You can avoid this type of simple mastakes by using a simple install
script. You can find an example at the wiki. The script uses part of
the wtp build scripts to download and unzip wtp and all its pre-reqs.

While doing smoke test on the latest
1.5.3 build, I noticed some weird behaviour. After extracting all zips
I opened eclipse and I was not able to create a Web Dynamic project or
an EAR Project, the options where not shown at the "New Project"
wizard. So, I then decide to check out if there was any error (.log)
during
the startup but the log was empty. Finally, I went to check what
plugins
were loaded by going into Help > About Eclipse SDK , then clicked on
the "Plug-in details" button and noticed that a lot of the wst
and jst plugins are loaded.
Not knowing what is causing this odd
behaviour, I decided to delete everything that was extracted
previously,
and re-extracted the .zips. That didn't help.
Finally, I decided to delete
everything
(including the download .zips) and went ahead and downloaded everything
again, re-extracted everything again. But same behaviour.
At this point I am not sure what
else
to try. I am running with java full version "J2RE 1.5.0 IBM Windows
32 build pwi32dev-20061002a (SR3)" and the following is the size of
the zips that I have downloaded:

Can someone confirm that this is
happening
only on my computer? I pinged John L. and gave him a heads up that Tim
and I will be away tomorrow for an event and we will probably not be
able
to complete the smoke test for this week.
Best Regards,
