Re: [wtp-releng] JSF 0.5.1 is NOT on the WTP update site..

Hi David,

Thank you for your help. The problem is no upgrade available to JSF 20060829 build from update site if JSF 20060622 build is installed. Likely because both builds are versioned as 0.5 as you pointed out.

We have upgraded JSF features to 0.5.1 in JSF 20060829 build selectively. I.e., excluding documentation and unit tests. BTW, the changes are already in WTP 1.5.2 maintenance build. Please advise us if this is sufficient to address the issue on failing to upgrade to JSF 20060829 build via update site.
Thanks,
Justin

Hmm, works for me?
I did include JSF on the update site, and tested it once (exactly one week ago, now that I think about it :) Did you try and find it failed? And, remember, if you already have it installed, it won't even be displayed as being there on the site, so you need a "fresh install" or at least a "fresh 0.5" version to test. I've just tonight visually inspected the site, and all seems to be there,
but there is subtle things that could go wrong.

BUT ... one odd thing we got a bit sloppy on is that the "1.5.1 version" of JSF -- which actually should be called the* 0.5.1* version :) --- still starts with "0.5.0"
instead of "0.5.1" as it should ... specifically,

0.5.0.v20060829-OJnpNuKYI7O7SAU
whereas the previous was
0.5.0.v20060622-OJnpNtoWR7O7OAA
(note, the distinguishing date ... 8/29 vs. 6/22)

So ... if you see it doesn't work at all, please open a bug, with the exact steps followed. If, you'd like to "fix" the version number ... perhaps we could add that to our October list of bugs to fix? And, if that's the only JSF fix, then should just be "0.5.1". (and, actually ... we could probably do that when ever we wanted).

As for

Normally the only thing I'd ask you to do is to test it, so, apologies I forgot to do that in last week's crunch.

Let me know how else I can help.

Hi,

Are we planning to post the 1.5.1 release of the JSF project to the update site? Is this an activity that the JSF Tools project team have to handle?

Thanks
Raghu

No, the WTP update does not have JSF 1.5.1 included.
